Grand Mayan Minni-Me

I'll start with a disclaimer: I didn't paint the jug (it's gorgeous isn't it?) just the egg, I just thought it would be fun to have in the photo as a comparison. The hand-painted jug of "Grand Mayan Tequila" was a gift from my brother after his taco competition earlier this year. I was looking for something to do to kill time so I used the design for a practice egg (that and I really need some color in my gallery, lol).

Overall I am not a fan how this came out, I painted the patterns directly on the blank shell (no background coat) which took away my ability to fix little mistakes. It taught me a lot about brush control though and I guess in a way it really pays homage to the hand-painted aesthetic that makes the source material so lovely; so I can't complain.
